Chael Sonnen Will Get His Chance To Stop Jon Jones

Chael Sonnen will fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship

It has been made official the UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones will square off Against Chael Sonnen as coaches of the next Ultimate Fighter season.

This is going to be great for the sport for many reasons, you have to acknowledge the fact that Jon Jones made it clear he is not afraid to fight anyone.

Jon Jones answered a lot of critics with his UFC 152 finish including myself, during the UFC 152 post fight interview he said he wanted to fight Dan Henderson.

Jones got devastating news to learn that he had injured his arm during his last fight, he needs time to rehab so when he was presented with this opportunity he took it to end the talks of him being afraid to fight Chael Sonnen.

This is a great way for Jon Jones to end all of the criticism towards him, on the other hand this is also a great opportunity for Chael Sonnen who has been labeled as the fighter who cannot win the big one.

Chael has been an elite fighter for a very long time, his accomplishments are impossible to ignore this is a fighter who worked his way to the top of the Middleweight division twice earning both title shots against UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

He hasn't accomplished his goal of winning a UFC title yet, but you cannot deny the fact that this man comes to fight.

If you go outside of his fighting skills, there is not many fighters capable of building a title fight like he is, the facts are there this man was in the main event of UFC 148 an event that shattered gate records..

See the problem is the fans who decide to believe everything they hear or see from the media, I noticed some of these writers have articles about Chael Sonnen where they use inaccurate information.

Franklin McNeil a ESPN writer, in his article titled Sonnen fires back at the critics of his title fight, he wrote that Chael Sonnen's record is 17-12-1.

I really wish Franklin McNeil would have done a quick check on his facts because Chael Sonnen is 28-12-1.

Then you have Jon Jones who said Chaels UFC record was 5-6 and that he had lost two straight fights, again this is information that is 100 percent false.

His UFC record is 6-5 but at the same time people don't see the fact he has won 5 of his last 7 fights, its great to have an opinion its another thing to make up your own facts up as you go along..

Look don't say something unless you have knowledge that what your saying is true, there is no reason to make things up about a fighter just because you dislike them.

Fighters are now coming out and complaining about Chael Sonnen's title shot, these were the same fighters who turned down fights with Jon Jones, I don't know what they want here.

Chael responded to these fighters by saying none of these guys asked to fight him, he made it clear that he was willing to take on anyone who was willing.

He made it clear that he would definitely be up to taking a tune up fight for Jon Jones, this is a man who never backs down, he basically called out anyone who wanted to speak up.

What makes the UFC as great as it is, this is not about giving fighters a year to prepare this is about fighters going in and fighting.

Dan Henderson has himself to blame, he should have been honest about his knee injury from the start because maybe it would have prevented the UFC 151 mess.

Lyoto Machida, I don't have the slightest idea what this guy's problem is, he was offered to fight Jon Jones twice, each time he rejected the fight so its on him that he wasn't presented with this opportunity.

Those two fighters are among many who refused to fight Jon Jones, out of all of these fighters Chael Sonnen was the only one who stepped up.

This is not Boxing, if you want something you get up and take it, this is the Ultimate Fighting Championship, it was invented to give opportunities to the fighters who are hungry to fight the best.

If your not excited about the idea of seeing two fighters who hate each other square off as opposing coaches for the next season of the Ultimate Fighter then something is seriously off with you.

This is going to bring back the excitement that we had with all the rivalries that Tito Ortiz was a part of, this is going to bring back the feeling we had of the rivalry that Chael had with Anderson Silva.

I cannot wait to see what happens when Jon Jones defends his title against Chael Sonnen on April 27th, 2013, this is going to be an absolute war.

Jon Jones is full of confidence but I honestly think he has his work cut out for him here, he doesn't have anywhere near the experience of Chael Sonnen.

Chael lost to Anderson Silva twice but people fail to mention the fact that Chael Sonnen won 5 out of 7 rounds with him, who knows what will happen when he takes down Jones.

Jon Jones can talk about not being taken down all he wants, he has never been in there with a wrestler like Chael Sonnen.

At the end of everything Jon Jones showed he is a true champion, Chael has shown throughout his entire MMA career he is a warrior, I don't know what more you could want as a fan.

Two fighters who hate each other appearing on a reality show against one another, I cannot think of a better place for the UFC to build a title fight like this.
