Manny Pacquaio Needs To Break Away From Bob Arum

picture belongs to http://www.worldcorrespondents.com

For years it has been said by many including myself that the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world Floyd "Money" Mayweather has ducked Manny Pacquaio.

I admit I'm not a big fan of Floyd Mayweather because I feel like he needs to be honest with his fans, when you see clips of him out of the ring he is actually a good guy.

I judged him to be a bad guy but this guy supports a lot of people around him, I did some research and found out from a member of his team that he did indeed call Manny Pacquaio to offer him a fight.

Manny rejected a fight with Floyd Mayweather and a lot of it has to do with his promoter Bob Arum.

I didn't realize how complicated this was, this is a business and there is so many things that seem to get in the way.

This is the fight that everyone wants to see, on camera you would get the vibe Floyd doesn't want any part of this fight but behind closed doors it was the Pacman who said no.

For the fans who want to see the dream fight of Floyd Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquaio don't expect it to ever happen, I don't see this deal ever getting signed.

At this point Manny Pacquaio is not in the position to make demands, if Manny wants to ever be the man again he needs to step up.

I will never understand why he didn't call Floyd out after the Rios fight, so many of these guys just miss that chance and don't get it.

Chael Sonnen Submits Shogun Rua In 1st Round

Chael Sonnen submits Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Shogun Rua picture belongs to http://www.mmamania.com

After being labeled as a fighter who was said to be all about talking Chael Sonnen silenced the critics when he dominated Mauricio Shogun Rua.

I had a feeling Chael would win this fight but I saw it coming down to a decision, he shocked everyone when he earned himself submission of the night.

It was an awesome card but this was a main event that lived up to the hype, although it was brought to an end in the 1st round Chael Sonnen made a statement that he is still an elite fighter.

As usual Chael took the microphone after the fight and called out another great fighter in Wanderlei Silva, I guess this was something we should have all expected.

You can say what you want about this guy, he talks a big game but he always backs it up.

From the start of the fight he ran right at Shogun and took him down, he used his wrestling and ground attack to dominate Rua and then finished him with the guillotine choke.

Nobody expected Chael to finish this fight in the 1st round, this was as good as I've ever seen him in the octagon.

I saw he went for the choke earlier in the round so I knew it was on his mind but to do it to a fighter like Rua is really hard to do.

Wherever Chael Sonnen goes from here it was clear he still has what it takes to compete at a high level in the UFC.

He raised his game to a level where I think he will be very hard to beat in his next fight, whoever chooses to step in Chael Sonnen's house he will be meeting them at the front door with closed fists.

Chael Sonnen Looking To Gain Back Respect In UFC

Chael Sonnen picture belongs to wordpress.com
Chael Sonnen has been a guy who took one of the greatest fighters in the world to the limit, he worked his way up as the #1 UFC Middleweight contender twice.

In the UFC in a lot of eyes your remembered for what you did in your last fight, Chael is coming off back to back title losses in two different weight classes.

What people fail to think about is the fact he went up against Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, anyone who has followed the UFC knows what those two fighters are all about.

August 17th Chael will have his chance to get back into talks for big fights in the Middleweight division if he could get past former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Shogun Rua.

Hes running into another dangerous opponent, he will need to use his wrestling to keep this fight on the ground.

Although you know its coming Chael Sonnen may be one of the best wrestlers on the planet, this guy could take down a horse if he wanted to.

Its been said if Chael defeats Shogun Rua that there is a possibility we could see him go up against Wanderlei Silva or Vitor Belfort.

Whatever you think of Chael Sonnen there is a reason he enters so many UFC conversations, there is a reason he headlines events he will always be a huge draw.

Aug 17th I expect Chael to come out trying to fight like he has in every other fight, win or lose the American Gangster will come out swinging and look for a takedown.

Will Anderson Silva Win Back His Middleweight Title?

Longest Reigning Champ In UFC History Anderson Silva picture belongs to http://www.fadedindustry.com
I have bashed the guy so many times but anyone who respects the sport of MMA has to respect what Anderson Silva has accomplished.

When he walked into UFC 162 it was a nightmare matchup for him on paper, the 1st round was all Weidman but Anderson came out to start round 2 firing away leg kicks throwing Weidman's timing off.

Chris Weidman looked absolutely clueless in round 2 until Anderson Silva started clowning around trying to get him to leave an opening.

Anderson always finds a way to make better fighters look ridiculous in there which is what made him a legend, UFC 162 was your classic example of what can happen when your not ready.

Anderson showed he was much better on the feet and could have taken Weidman apart, its frustrating that he fought the way he did instead of showcasing his dominance in the Middleweight division.

Imagine being that great that people cannot accept 1 loss in 17 UFC fights? Think about that fact that most of those fights were title fights and he finishes his opponents more times than not.

People are claiming Anderson threw the fight which is another example of how great he really is, even his own manager Ed Soares said if he was going to throw the fight he would have tapped in round 1 instead of getting knocked out to the point where his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

You cannot take anything away from Chris Weidman because Anderson Silva has used the same style so many times and he was the one guy who made him pay.

Its one thing to let Chael Sonnen try to knock you out but when you do it with a guy like Chris Weidman you will fall, this will create one of the biggest rematches in the business.

Anderson Silva is the Babe Ruth of MMA, he has proved it so many times and I feel he will dominate the rematch to once again be the UFC Middleweight champion.

I love Chris Weidman I'm all for him having a long run but you have to be realistic and its hard to believe Anderson Silva won't take him apart when they meet for the 2nd time.

The rematch will be even bigger than UFC 148 if that is even possible, expect the UFC to once again shatter gate records in 2013 as we are headed for one of the biggest years in MMA.

Again I've bashed the guy so many times but I really felt bad for Anderson Silva after UFC 162, it really sucks to see a legend fall but knowing him I'm sure he will get back up.

Brazil Most Amazing Atmosphere In MMA Today

This picture belongs to http://www.mmaoddsbreaker.com

Watching the UFC in Brazil is like watching the World Series or the Superbowl, the atmosphere in this events is unbelievable.

Every single one of the Brazilian fans back each and every one of their own fighters, many times I feel like American fans can learn from them and back their own guys.

Take Anderson Silva yes he is the guy right now but American fans should be backing Chris Weidman right now, they also should have shown more support to a guy like Chael Sonnen who steps up to fight anyone.

I don't know what happened to the American fans but they don't seem to ever back the right guy, look at Boxing the great hero is Floyd Mayweather while the Klitschkos have dominated the Heavyweight division for years.

There is something special about the connection with the Brazilian fans and their fighters, they seem to give strength to their fighters and continue to help the UFC grow into what it is today.

I still cannot believe how loud they were during the Belfort Vs Rockhold card, when Vitor won the main event you could barely hear the commentary anymore.

Much respect to the Brazilian fans for adding into what was an amazing event, I hope for more events to take place there in the future.

Brazil respects their fighters, I use to think they were over the top because of the few maniacs who have to act out but overall they are the best fans in MMA today.

As an American I'm not afraid to say that MMA wouldn't be anything close to what it is today if it were not for the country of Brazil.

Bradley Desir Shines In His Pro Muay Thai Debut

Pro MMA star Bradley "FeatherStone" Desir wins his professional Muay Thai debut picture belongs to Bradleys facebook

Professional MMA star Bradley "FeatherStone" Desir looked very impressive in his Muay Thai debut.

I guess its in his DNA to shine at whatever he chooses to do, I was really happy to see him out there doing what he does best.

I haven't followed Pro Muay Thai, as an MMA fan I had no idea it was like kickboxing but it was amazing to watch Bradley Desir pick up another victory in his fighting career.

I was able to see the clip from his fight, just to know what kind of athlete this is this is a guy who claimed he wasn't overly excited about his performance when he picked up a dominant win.

This is a fighter who is destined for bigger things, hes a perfectionist that works hard everyday of his life and it shows in his fights.

He came into this fight in incredible shape, once he took a few kicks he started to let his hands go and was able to dish out a lot of punishment.

I also want to know how the guy he fought came in at the same weight the day before, the guy was huge and B. Desir chopped him down like a tree.

Sometimes you wonder about people who hit hard luck but when you see someone like this accomplish what he has in such a short time it reminds you that good things happen to good people.

Where I grew up there wasn't many role models we could look up to, I always had my family especially my father and brother but someone like Bradley Desir could set a real good example for kids around here and all over the world.

Not enough could be said about how much respect I have for this guy as a professional athlete and as a Marine, every part of me wants to see him continue to achieve great things in his life.

This guy is a wizard on the ground, it took a lot of guts to step into a fight thats based on striking when a big part of your game was your jiu jitsui.

I said it before I'll say it again remember the name Bradley Desir, he continues to show how impressive he is as a fighter.

Once he realizes how talented he really is the sky is the limit, no doubt in my mind your looking at a guy who can compete in Bellator or UFC TUF right now.

I also want people who read this to know I'm sharing my opinion, but at the same time I know nothing about the hard work he has to go through in order to get to these fights.

Only Bradley Desir would be able to tell you about the struggles, he is the one in there everyday working but I wanted people who read this to know what a great man he is.

Growing up I didn't know him in High School, I wish I did know him because as a fan I've seen a side of him where its impossible not to support him.

This guy always has time to talk about his family, he doesn't brag about himself he constantly looks to improve himself and thats why he has reached the heights hes reached at such a young age.

Where Does Chael Sonnen Go From Here?

Chael Sonnen after loss to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones
Chael Sonnen {28-13-1}was a man of his word, he showed up to UFC 159 firing away the entire time but it wasn't enough.

{18-1} Jon Jones managed to dominate Chael at his own game, many analysts going into the fight thought Jones would have problems defending the takedowns.

I cannot remember anyone taking down Chael 3 times inside a round, for the entire round it was a one sided beating.

At the end of everything its hard to imagine Chael ever getting another title shot, realistically it was probably his last shot to win a UFC title.

I don't know where he goes from here, its been said there has been talks about a fight with him and Wanderlei Silva {35-12-1} but you never know.

There has always been a feud between Chael and Wanderlei, at that time the fight didn't make sense but right now it makes all the sense in the world.

It would be easy for Sonnen to walk away from the sport and just be an analyst but the guy loves being a fighter more than anything.

Watching the UFC 159 main event a couple of times over the fight was called way too soon, as much as Jones dominated Chael he didn't knock him out.

Chael was still defending himself and in a fight like that you don't want to make a controversial decision which was done by refs the entire night.

To love the sport you have to live with the outcome of every fight, you have to also respect the refs decision as much as you disagree with it.

Its a judgement call and maybe in his eyes he was saving Chael Sonnen from serious damage, all I know is Chael never backed down or made any excuses.

I think Chael has been doing great things for the UFC, if you think about it he fired up Jon Jones and brought him to a level he has never been before.

Jon Jones is now calling out the bigger guys and wants to show the world that he is the greatest fighter in the world.

If Anderson Silva somehow makes it past Chris Weidman there may be a superfight with him Vs Jon Jones, guys like Chael Sonnen are calling them out for not taking the fight yet.

We need more of this in the UFC, guys need to start calling other fighters out, I want to see the best fights we can see.

Chael Sonnen had 3 title shots and failed in each attempt, he also took on the top 2 pound for pound fighters in the sport and he took 5 and a half out of 7 rounds with Anderson Silva.

Most of the time Chael fought Anderson Silva he completely dominated him, UFC 148 the knee by Anderson Silva was definitely illegal.

Anyone who questions where the knee connected should think about the fact Anderson was holding onto the fence which added momentum and is also illegal.

Chael would have been able to take Anderson Silva down at some points before that in round 2 but Anderson was holding Chaels shorts and the fence for 20 seconds at a time, you guessed it thats also illegal.

You move on but it would be nice if more MMA analysts mentioned those things, either way I have a feeling Chael Sonnen Vs Wanderlei Silva will happen.

I wouldn't count out either fighter, I also think it would be nice for Chael to get his chance to redeem himself in some fans eyes.

To me I think the guy has always been a warrior, I respect the fact he doesn't back down from a fight, this guy backs up what he says.

He goes in there and runs right at you, if he goes down he doesn't make any excuses he always takes his beatings like a man.

I think its going to be a great year for the UFC, April was full of some great fights and some great moments.

I cannot wait to see whats going to happen in the future but for now I will say Chael Sonnen has nothing to be ashamed of.

Remembering Travis Alexander

Travis Alexander picture belongs to http://blogs.westword.com

I'm going to start this off by saying I speak as an outsider, I wasn't one of the people fortunate to have known Travis Alexander during his life but its impossible not to feel horrible about what happened to him.

Jodi Arias may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but when you kill someone 3 times over as prosecutor Juan Martinez has said then what is there to think about here?

I understand the death penalty is a serious topic, the people who decide to show sympathy for Jodi Arias should think about the family and friends of Travis Alexander who are really suffering right now.

The defense team for Jodi Arias has slandered Travis Alexander, they have made up countless lies about his character and credibility.

While all of this has gone on I wish somebody would stop to realize the only reason Travis Alexander cannot defend his character is because his life was ripped away.

Whatever you want to say about how he was to Jodi Arias, Travis Alexander was not a killer and the things that have been said about him are ridiculous.

If Jodi Arias felt as if she were abused by Travis Alexander then why would she go to see him at the time she did?

If Travis was such an abusive guy why didn't he force himself on her right there? Why was Jodi Arias content on sleeping in his bed?

If she really moved to get away from Travis then there is no reason she would go back to his place like that?

The defense has repeatedly contradicted themselves, one minute there telling you Jodi was Travis Alexanders dirty little secret the next there showing photos of them at public events.

Still there is people in this world who decide to feel for someone like Jodi Arias, she has been getting donations while she is behind bars for murder.

Travis Alexander on the other hand, this is a guy who would take people off the street and give them a life.

Many of his friends have said that Travis would have gave the shirt off his own back, its really remarkable when you hear about the countless contributions he made to this world.

I only hope he is remembered for the great man he really was, I hope justice is prevailed, I hope the jurors see what this has done to a lot of people.

Before you start feeling sorry for Jodi Arias, she is a big girl she knew what she was doing and she has lied several times about it.

When you lie the way she has its hard to ever believe anything she ever says, her credibility is shot as is anyone who was scummy enough to take a cent from this case to defend a murderer.

Juan Martinez is someone who really got to me in this case, he said things that made me want to be involved with law someday.

At the end of everything every bit of my love goes to the friends and family of Travis Alexander, they have handled this as strong as anyone could.

The right thing needs to be done on Monday so they can all have some closure on this matter, still I know it has to hurt to have lost such a great man.

Where Has The Pride Gone In Major League Baseball?

CC Sabathia looking like a clown picture belongs to http://www.1043thefan.com

Watching the New York Yankees play tonight one thing came to mind right away, how on earth do they let CC Sabathia come out wearing the Yankee uniform the way he does?

I think its disrespectful to wear any uniform the way he does but to do it to a uniform that has the tradition of the Yankee pinstripes really makes me sick.

To some people this may not seem like a big deal, when your seeing kids wearing their hat to the side trying to be like CC it may change your view.

I'm well aware CC is not the only guy in Baseball to wear his uniform like that, I'm singling him out here because he just so happened to be pitching when I turned the game on.

At least CC doesn't wear a do-rag under his hat but at the same time where is the pride?

If your going to respect the game then respect the game, the moment you come out on that field dressed like a clown your setting a bad example for every kid watching.

Again it may not seem like a big deal to some, its hard for me to support a guy who wears the Yankee uniform like that.

At least wear your hat the right way, David Wells use to dress like a slob too but that was because he was too fat and lazy to care.

With CC I don't know if its some kind of thing where hes paying respect to the rap scene, all I know is he doesn't look like a professional.

Don't try to debate anything I said by telling me how he pitches, everyone on the planet knows CC Sabathia has a gifted arm but it would be nice to see him take some pride in how he represents himself out there.

Bradley Desir Ready To Take Care Of Business

I haven't had much of a chance to watch a lot of Bradley Desir's fights but from what I've seen he is loaded with talent.

Although I went to High School with him I never had the chance to meet him but when you look at what he has done to make a name in the sport its impossible not to respect him.

Everyday of his life he is living his dream, when your on your journey in life its important that you choose to do something that makes you happy and above all do something that inspires people.

Bradley "FeatherStone" Desir will take on Glen Sparv March 29th at the Chaweng Stadium Event Center in Samui, Thailand.

I know at the end of the fight Bradley Desir will be standing with his hand raised, every part of me believes this is a fighter who is going to keep moving up.

I don't know anything about his opponent so it would be ignorant on my part to say anything about him as a fighter, I also think it would be ignorant for anyone to overlook a fighter like B. Desir.

When you step in the cage with a fighter like Bradley Desir, your being asked to stop more than just a great fighter, your being asked to stop a man who was a US Marine.

How can you put fear into an opponent who has been through something like that? How can you break the will of someone who fought for this country?

Like I have said before I feel like B. Desir has already won because he lives his dream 24\7, as a fan I've tried to follow his career as much as possible and I know he will continue to do great things in MMA.

A lot of the upcoming fighters in MMA today are very well rounded and from what I've seen B. Desir is definitely one of those guys.

I like to watch a fighter who pushes the pace but I also love the art of jiu jitsu.

Submissions are very underrated, most MMA fans just want to see someone get knocked out buts there is so much more to it than that.

Read the title Bradley Desir is ready to care of business and he will do exactly that, his opponent is in for a bad night.

Put Up Or Shut Up The Rock Needs To Step Up

MR. Hollywood The Rock tries to give the fans something to actually care about when it comes to his upcoming main event vs John Cena.

The WWE has been carried for the last two years by what I feel to be their #1 wrestler CM Punk.

CM Punk had the longest WWE title reign in the last 25 years, he held the title for 434 consecutive days before dropping it to the Rock at the Royal Rumble.

The Rock is a huge draw but when you look at him as a wrestler what has he done that you have never seen before?

His catchphrases and promos are all written for him, he doesn't come up with any new moves and one of his finishers he runs from one side of the ring to the other just to drop an elbow.

The peoples elbow would be the move that ended the 434 days that CM Punk held the title, lets not forget this is after this guy has kicked out of John Cena and Triple H's finishers so it made no sense to me at all.

The Rock is nothing special when you look at what he does inside the ring, most of the things he does in a match require no thought process at all.

Recently WWE hall of famer Bret Hart said that he felt Triple H was one of those guys but if you think about it what he said also applies to the Rock.

At least in the case of Triple H the guy didn't leave for 7 years then come back to steal the spotlight.

Since the Rock has returned there hasn't been much to be impressed by, he hasn't had 1 good match since his comeback nor has he really cut a good promo.

The Rock will come out tonight do his whole song and dance, I don't expect him to do anything interesting tonight, I see him doing another one of his stupid concerts either tonight or on next weeks episode of Raw.

If you think about it CM Punk belongs in the main event against John Cena, lets be honest here there is no way the Rock Vs John Cena will come anywhere near the matches with Punk Vs Cena.

CM Punk should be the #1 guy and to be honest I think he has the biggest wrestlemania storyline in history.

CM Punk will have a chance to go up against the Undertaker's streak, to me there is no bigger honor in wrestling because the Undertaker is the biggest active star from the "Attitude Era".

I don't care what anyone says about the Rock there is nobody on the planet who can tell me he has done more for the WWE than the Undertaker.

Still we are stuck with another main event between John Cena Vs The Rock, again I don't expect it to be a good match but at the same time these guys have a chance to really give the fans something to remember.

I would like to see them actually plan out a really solid match, I don't want to see brawling the entire time I want to see an actual wrestling match with these guys.

Put my opinion aside, the WWE gave the Rock the chance to finally put someone over and give us a match that will be talked about for years.

Back in the day The Rock always had good wrestlers to work with but with John Cena they are both limited he is going to have to figure out a way to keep this match exciting.

Hopefully The Rock will act like he actually cares about the business for once and give the fans what they want to see.
