Jets On Fire In 24-14 Win Over The Bengals

The Rookie Quarterback #6 Mark Sanchez looked like a 10 year veteran in the first playoff game of his career.

Mark was throwing with serious comfortably out there completing 12 out of his first 15 passes for 182 yards with one touchdown pass.

M. Sanchez is a young QB who seems to have a talent for making the big play.

Yes there is better QB's as far as ability goes but Mark is a player who is very similar to the Giants Eli Manning with the fact that they both seem to have a calm presence about them.

Personally I did not like the Jets play calling they need to go through the air more often throughout the game.

They have a very gifted passer and they need to let him do his thing out there that is the only way that this can be his team.

You have to realize that eventually a good defensive team will be able to shut down the ground attack.

You have to mix it up out there I know that is a common saying, but it is very true in this case.

At the same time you cannot forget how good their RB Shonn Greene is he did rush for 135 yards on his first 21 carries with one touchdown averaging 6.4 yards per attempt.

If you remember the Giants were a team known for their running game but receivers like Plaxico Burress helped turn that around by giving Eli a consistent target on the field.

In the first half Mark Sanchez could have completed a 2nd touchdown pass but the ball was dropped when he put it in a perfect spot.

Going into this one many people were speculating about how hard it would be for a first year QB to step into a game of this magnitude, but as I deep down predicted to myself he has put an end to all those talks.

New York {Jets} have played terrific defense if they can continue their strong play into another round their d will be the key to taking home a Championship.

The broadcasters seemed to be focused on the fact that the Jets would be in a difficult spot as their kicker #3 Jay Feely had to also be their punter in tonights game due their starting P being sick.

Jay responded and gave his team a lot of support with some excellent punts averaging over 30 yards throughout the game.

In a playoff game this could have really hurt the team but J. Feely rose to the occasion.

The Jets next game could be against one of two teams as it could either be against the San Diego Chargers or the Indianapolis Colts.

If they have to play San Diego it will be on Sunday the 17th at 4:40 eastern time on CBS, and if they have to play the Colts it will be on Saturday the 16th at 8:15 pm eastern time on CBS.

Looking back when the Colts had a chance to take the Jets out they decided to rest their starting 4 time MVP QB Peyton Manning who already has a Super Bowl MVP under his belt.

In a game against the New York Jets the Colts let their backup QB go in as the Jets prevailed to a huge win that has brought them to where they are now.

If they happen to play the Colts and win then that could end up being the biggest break of their season.
