Saints Squeak Past Vikings 31-28

The Minnesota Vikings had one heck of a run this season with their 40 year old legend QB #4 Brett Favre.

Watching Brett fall under pressure in a situation where his team was going on to win leads you to believe no matter what age he never found a way to learn the game.

Brett Favre has accomplished many things during his NFL career with winning the Super Bowl in 1997 for the Green Bay Packers when they defeated the New England Patriots 35-21.

He managed to bring the Packers to another Super Bowl the following year but ended up losing to the Denver Broncos 31-24.

It is hard to believe that a name like this hasn't played in more Super Bowl's considering how many chances he has had to make it to the promise land.

B. Favre rode on his talent for many years but with his age creeping up on him he cannot get away with making mistakes anymore especially when the game is on the line.

If you look at his numbers in the game he was 28 for 46 throwing for 310 yards with one touchdown pass, but threw 2 key interceptions with the last one being late in the 4th quarter with a chance for the win.

Think about it with less than two minutes left in the game Minnesota had the ball on the Saints 38 yard line with a 3rd and 15 situation, there was an opportunity to get into better position for the field goal.

Just when you think the Vikings are sailing to a birth in the Superbowl the future hall of famer Brett Favre threw a huge interception to bring the game to overtime.

A lot of the past mistakes are still lingering in Brett's game if you look back to 2007 when he was given the game 3 different times by the New York Giants field goal kicker Lawrence Tynes.

B. Favre was then unable to capitalize falling short to Eli Manning's terrific performance along with Former Giant Plaxico Burress who had over 11 receptions for over 100 yards.

Most likely this will be the end of an excellent career that should always be remembered for the good things that he did because there is a lot of them.

On the other side of the field stood a team that was ready to go through anything to play in the final game the New Orleans Saints.

Saints QB #9 Drew Brees came ready to play he was 17 for 31 throwing for 197 yards with 3 touchdown passes as he will lead his team to the big game.

Drew came up big when he had to he faces a big obstacle ahead when he will participate in the Super Bowl Vs The Indianapolis Colts.

Drew will have to use tight end #80 Jeremy Shockey more when he takes on the Colts defense who were spectacular in their AFC Championship win over the New York Jets.

J. Shockey only had one catch for 9 yards he is an important player out there at all times, and should be used a lot more in the offense.

After being injured in 2007 for the New York Giants watching them win the Super Bowl from the sideline and finally getting a chance to taste a piece of the glory must be a dream come true for Jeremy.

After a great game back and fourth the Saints will roll with the odds to take on Peyton Manning and the Colts on Sunday February 7th at 6:25 pm eastern time at Sun Life Stadium in Miami for lets say it again THE SUPER BOWL BABY.
