Where Is the Offense? Changes Are A Must

Wouldn't it be great to see more of these celebrations?

The New York Rangers have scored one goal in their last 3 games which leads you to think that the top lines just simply are not getting it done.

A fire needs to be lit under these guys and their Head Coach John Tortorella is the one man who can do it.

New York backed themselves into a corner they didn't have the cap room to sign Nick Antropov this past off season because of all the money they had to throw at #23 Chris Drury, #6 Wade Redden, and #33 Michal Rozsival.

Right now they are in the process of trying to bring Sheldon Souray onto the team in a trade he is a terrific defensemen but he is not going to put an end to the scoring drought.

Look right now at Chris Drury your throwing 8 million dollars at a player who cannot hit the side of a barn.

Wade Redden is collecting 8 million to just clog up space out there as he as contributed to absolutely nothing since his arrival to the team.

Michal Rozsival is bringing in 6 million and is a player that gives the the puck along with providing no offense.

Add all that up and that is 22 million dollars on 3 players who have combine for 37 points in the blueshirts 48 games this season.

One question I got for that is are you kidding me? How long are we going to be subjected to horrible deals like the ones we saw the Rangers make with those three?

Look at the stats the players who have gotten it done besides their goalie #30 Henrik Lundqvist have really gotten off to a great start during the first half of this campaign.

You look at the three players I mentioned before then you look at #10 Marian Gaborik, #20 Vinny Prospal, and #4 Michael Del Zotto they have combined for 108 points.

Those 3 combine for a little less than over 20 million which shows you that there is a blind eye in the organization.

Obviously Marian Gaborik stands out with 54 points playing in 46 games with 28 games as he has been the best player in the National Hockey League in his first season for New York.

How could you not realize what is going on? It is plain as day that there is serious trades that need to be made.

One thing I am confused about is that you would scratch #12 Ales Kotalik from the lineup multiple times when he is set to receive 3 million.

Ales is a player that can give some help to a struggling power play that has failed all year and is 4th on the team with 22 points playing in 42 games.

I've heard a rumour that the Ranger's as an organization feel that #17 Brandon Dubinsky is a letdown for all the time they have invested in him.

I'm sorry but he is not the blame after dealing with one of the worst family tradegies you can imagine losing his two month old son in the summer he has had an excellent season so far.

I have loads of respect for B. Dubinsky I have no idea why he is the guy to point the finger at recovering from a broken hand this year he has managed to still put up 23 points in 35 games.

You can't ask for Ales Kotalik and Brandon Dubinsky to carry 3 players who have 37 points all year and are taking in all that money.

At one time C. Drury, M. Rozsival, and W. Radden had exceptional skills but over time they have diminished.

I see that #29 Chad Johnson had gotten more starts in net maybe to put him out there as trade bait, but that is not a good idea when you are in a playoff hunt.

I have no problem with Chad as the backup he is a very talented goal tender who will make a great starter some day, but right now you have Henrik Lundqvist who has held opposing players to a 2.27 goals against average.

Henrik has stopped 1,143 out of 1235 shots this season with a .926 save percentage there is no reason to leave this man on the bench when you need wins.

Maybe they didn't want to start him on back to back nights nights with a game on Tuesday I don't know but with the all star break coming up you might as well go with your best at this point.

Not too mention his track record if your keep talking about his goals against average statistics in his NHL career it stands at 2.31.

Someone with the Rangers staff has to step up and point out what is really going on there along with standing up to the league facing the unprofessional actions from the referees towards Sean Avery.

Its hard to watch to watch a sport where you watch a player for example lets just say Sean Avery get crosschecked into the boards from behind no call on something like that then you see Sean get called for getting pushed into a goalie.

Then broadcaster Sam Rosen justifies the officials horrible treatment of the Rangers game after game which really makes it hard most of the time I have to mute the games.

After a 4-1 loss last night with backup Chad Johnson in net the Rangers have to respond quick tonight in their 7:00 pm eastern time game Vs the Montreal Canadians with the King Henrik Lundqvist.

New York will come home to Madison Square Garden looking to take on the Canadians who have a 22 year old goalie named Carey Price, and can come at you with 24 year old #41 Jaroslav Halak.

I wouldn't be surprised to see either one in net tonight, but I would definitely be prepared if I'm the New York Rangers.

For a team that hasn't been scoring they are going to have to do exactly what V. Prospal said and that is just simplify things let the game open up.

Lets see who want to step up tonight and make it happen on the ice they will have to do it against two former Rangers #91 Scott Gomez and defensemen #22 Paul Mara.

To be honest Scott Gomez was a waste of money he is one of the more talented players in the game but lacks a scoring touch.

Unless something has drastically changed since his departure from New York he is a player who will carry the puck from end to end then miss the net by 30 feet.

Paul Mara is a great defender it is very hard to get the upper hand on him New York will have to use their speed to get around him in the offensive zone.

Tonight can be the start of a new attitude on the blueshirts bench its great to have winning streaks but you cannot continue to follow them losing 3 or 4 games in a row.

You have to be consistent with the 2nd half of the year around the corner it has to start now.

Lets see what happens at the garden tonight when the Rangers look to gather behind Marian Gaborik and feed him the puck.
