Peyton Outduels The Kid Sanchez In 30-17 Win

Jets QB #6 Mark Sanchez has nothing to hang his head about after giving his team along with the coaching staff a bolt of energy this season.

The story going into the game was the transformation for the Jets rookie QB, and he definitely showed that he belongs on the big stage in today's loss.

When you think about it he really didn't stand a chance as the game went on when the Colts starting eating away the clock tearing apart the Jet defense.

M.Sanchez was 17 for 30 chucking for 257 yards with two touchdown passes with his one interception being when the game was pretty much over.

I know that is no excuse I am just saying that at that point of the game Mark was throwing out of desperation taking chances he normally wouldn't take.

Although New York was defeated there is a lot to be taken from this game considering that this was a team that was always counted out.

Up until the end of today's AFC Championship game there were many believers out there who predicted that the Jets would continue to path to glory, but ended up being wrong courtesy of Indianapolis.

New York was on a roll up until #23 Shonn Greene left the game with a rip injury to be honest if it ends up not being serious then you have to be upset that he didn't have it in him to finish with an AFC title on the line.

What I don't understand is why so many run plays were called after Shonn's departure because there is a big difference between him and #20 Thomas Jones.

Thats not a knock on T. Jones just from what I saw from the Jets throughout the year S. Greene just seems like the better choice by far.

You can say that had a huge impact on the outcome of what happened but on the other hand you would be a fool if you didn't notice the Colts QB #18 Peyton Manning.

Peyton will return to try for his second ring after another flawless effort in a post season game he was 26 for 39 throwing for 377 yards, and finding his receivers in the end zone for 3 touchdowns.

What you saw is another example of how the Manning brothers have taken over the game of Football.

Whenever the big game is on now you have either Eli or Peyton threading the needle all night long dodging hit after hit from the opposing defense.

P. Manning also ended up saving his Head Coach from the boneheaded move on sitting him in their loss to the Jets during the regular season when Peyton was given the night off.

That game was the night that the Colts had the opportunity to end the Jets season right there and then, but I guess looking back it only made today's game all that much more exciting.

After the Minnesota Vikings play the New Orleans Saints at 6:30 tonight we will know which one of those two teams will take on Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in the Superbowl on February 7th at 6:25 pm eastern time.
