The New York Rangers were the first to strike late in the 2nd period with a power play goal from #10 Marian Gaborik.
This was a great game for the first two periods both teams got some really good efforts out of their goalies.
A good note this game the referees seem to be calling it down the middle, and it is not just because the Rangers are playing good.
I've noticed that they have not called every little thing lately it has definitely produced a more entertaining game watching New York battle the Florida Panthers.
The blueshirts had a tough hurdle to climb after the injury to #6 Wade Redden in the 1st period.
#18 Marc Staal was able to dig down to give Head Coach John Tortorella 19 minutes of solid Hockey going into the 3rd period.
