Rangers Starting To Come Together Again

The New York Rangers goalie #30 King Henrik Lundqvist was spectacular in his last game helping his team to a 2-1 lead in the shootout.

Henrik made 35 saves on 36 shots bringing his career record to 151 wins 89 losses posting a 2.32 goals against average.

Valec Prospal had their only goal during last game's regulation time, but they got contributions up and down the lineup.

Marian Gaborik continued to add points to his first season in New York assisting V. Prospal's 5th goal of the year.

The Rangers got a boost in the shootout with a game winning goal from P.A. Parenteau proving he can make things happen.

He was recalled to bring down Dane Byers, and came through as New York won their 11th game of the 2009-10 campaign.

The blueshirts will roll into Tuesday night's game against the Washington Capitals looking to improve their spot in the Eastern Conference.

They will have a tough opponent the same team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

The Caps have a lot of tools starting with the 24 year old Alex Ovechkin if he is healthy enough to start after resting with an upper body injury.

Alex has 14 goals in 14 games with 23 points, and looks to pose a real threat to the Rangers Henrik Lundqvist.

If New York can isolate A. Ovechkin, and keep the body on him then they can generate some chances in the offensive zone.

The key to the game will be keeping the puck away from Alex who brings a lot of scoring chances to his game.

If you forget this is the same player that had 14 shots on H. Lundqvist in one of the playoff games between the two teams last season.

The other key to the game will be finding Marian Gaborik's stick down low as he continues to dominate.

The Rangers simply need to pelt the opposing goaltenders with more shots, just fire away all game every game.

They don't have a lot of players who can beat you with fancy moves, so the strategy of this team must be to crash the net.
