Rangers Always Facing The Odds

The Rangers goalie #30 Henrik Lundqvist has done everything he could do to keep New York in games, but has to face an uphill battle in every start.

No matter how good he plays the odds are always stacked against him, it seems like a routine for a blueshirt to be called for a soft penalty.

It has already gotten out of hand not it is at the point of just being outrageous.

Sean Avery was hit 10 feet away from the play last night no call, Marc Staal took a stick to the face no call and these were two non calls late in the 3rd period of last night's 3-2 loss.

It isn't just that I can't tell you how many times I see a referee get in a Ranger's way or break up their momentum somehow.

It is happening quite frequently the officials want to find a way to have an impact on the outcome of almost every game the Rangers play.

I didn't see the hit live but I recently watched the clip of the elbow on the captain Chris Drury that put him out of action for the last few games.

There is no reason that be ignored by the officials and it only resulted in a 3 game suspension while C. Drury has already been sidelined for four so what is fair in that situation?

I have no idea why the league wants to let something like that go, it was an elbow to the back of the head way behind the play it was downright cheap.

If the Rangers defend themselves then they have a million game misconducts, so if you are New York what do you do at this point?

I say you take Donald Brashear and you let him take a suspension or a game misconduct teach a lesson to the league not to mess with your big players.

For the hit on Chris Drury Cutis Glencross of the Calgary Flames needs to have a target on his back when he runs into the Rangers next time.

The problem is that wait could be until next season as the two teams are not scheaduled to play one another again for the remainder of the regular season.

I remember watching players like Jaramoir Jagr get called for hooking constantly for touching the player with his stick, but when other players cheap shotted him up by the head it was allowed.

If you remember back former Ranger now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs Colton Orr knocked out Todd Fedoruk when he was on the Flyers for head hunting J. Jagr.

As scrappy as this New York team is they need someone to step up physically, and start laying a beating on some of these players who want to cheap shot star players.

If someone even breathes on your goalie Henrik Lundqvist you cross check him into tomorrow, you never let the opposing team mess with your net minder especially if he is sole reason you have even had a playoff birth last year.

If you are going to put the C on Chris Drury then anyone who tries to hit him even if it is a clean hit you put the body to him, and show him to keep it in his head who he is taking a run at.

If the league is going to refuse to do anything to pick up this mess, then New York has to say screw it, and take matters into their own hands.

So you take a couple of more losses in one goal games at least you make a statement to the league you are not going to tolerate it anymore.

The sad thing is the Ranger broadcasters on MSG Sam Rosen and Joe Michelleti are unable to speak up which is like poison to my ears men who represent the team refuse to defend the truth.

Dave Maloney is the only one willing to say the right thing the former player of the New York Rangers should be doing the MSG games instead of the radio.

The Rangers need someone to air it out there on television get more viewers to realize what is going on around the league, and do something about it.

Its a matter of time but I know the good will come hopefully you will be able to watch the Rangers one night, and watch the game come down to which team is better not who got the most calls.
