Pittsburgh got away with more dirty play as they clearly were favored once again in the first period.
#34 Arron Voros was whacked with a stick which resulted in no call, Pens #71 Evgeni Malkin threw a punch at #38 P.A. Paranteau, but #87 Donald Brashear was the only one penalized on the play.
The roughing call on D. Brashear was justified but its like the referees refuse to see anything the Penguins do.
At the end of the first period New York got a call but it was an obvious one as #23 Chris Drury was pulled down 15 feet from the puck in front of the net.
It was another outstanding 20 minutes of play from both goal tenders who are the anchors of their team.
Pittsburgh's #29 Marc Andre Fleury doesn't get talked about enough for what he brings every game.
If it were a lot of other goalies then the Rangers would have probably been able to dig out a goal or two already, but he is tough to beat.
On New York's side of the ice #30 Henrik Lundqvist looked excellent in the first period the return to his throne making 11 saves.
The officiating got no better in the 2nd period after allowing Pittsburgh's goalie M. Fleury jab at #16 Sean Avery with the butt end of his stick.
Shortly after the Rangers got penalized when #20 Valec Prospal was playing the puck and took down Evgeni Malkin.
The blueshirts killed off that power play then got another two minute penalty #54 Bobby Sanguinetti barely made any contact with #11 Jordan Staal as he got two minutes for hooking.
It is really frustrating to witness this continue it is not Hockey.
The positive note for the Rangers is they got two goals from #10 Marian Gaborik who got his 2nd late in the second period to tie the game at 2-2.Marian leads with the league with goals scored and is second in points having himself an incredible year.

The Penguins took the 3-2 lead in the 3rd period after the referees missed two obvious calls that should have ended it New York power play's.
#24 Ryan Callahan was tripped right in front of the one of the officials you know he saw it because he was barrelled over on the play.
On the next play Sean Avery was knocked down in front of the net without having the puck anywhere in his vicinity.
Pittsburgh would respond late in the 3rd with another goal followed by an empty netter to win the game by a score of 5-2.
It was a shame this game ended the way it did the Rangers played very well regardless of what some critics may say.
The referees blew it again it is becoming a routine I hate to pin it on that but lets face it its crystal clear that the Commissioner needs to step in here.
Although he took the loss Henrik Lundqvist played very well and kept New York in this game.
Henrik made 28 saves on 32 shots and will look to improve his 11-10 record next game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday at 7:00 pm eastern time.
You can't be too negative this early in the season just hope to recover for next game it was not a lack of effort.
