The referees were at their usual worst for the blueshirts as their officiating found a way to ruin another Hockey game.
It is sad that this game came down to a few blown calls, because both teams have a tremendous amount of offensive ability.
In the first period Ryan Callahan was crosschecked from behind into the boards, nothing was called.
Ryan got up to fight once he realized the refs didn't see it, but come on how do you miss a call like that?
How many times do I need to write it? When you miss a dirty hit like that you are opening up a bench clearing brawl later in the game, or a player getting seriously hurt.
In the 3rd period after scoring a quick goal the Rangers down 4-3 had a chance to tie the game when they had a one man advantage.
Defensemen Michael Del Zotto was rushing the offensive zone with the puck before getting yanked down.
The play resulted in a hooking call on Atlanta, and for whatever reason M. Del Zotto was called for taking a dive.
Let me just get this out there because I have written it so many times before how do you take a dive when you are hooked?
You are either hooked or your not, and this call always seems to effect the New York Rangers the most out of all teams in the NHL.
When a player is skating full speed and an opposing player breaks his momentum in anyway you have no idea how someone reacts to that.
That is like assuming everyone in the National Hockey League has perfect balance at all times, give me a break this is such a slap in the face to the game.
Tonight could have been really exciting Atlanta's star player Ilya Kovalchuk and the Rangers star Marian Gaborik were incredible once again both each scoring a goal in the game.
This could have been a great finish, but once again the referees find a way to impact the game.
It should always come down to the players, and with the Rangers the officials do not seem to give them that chance.
Normally I'd write more about that stats in the game but they don't matter the victory goes to the NHL officials.
I am shocked that the board as allowed this to go on as long as it has, it has made a lot of Ranger fans not even want to watch Hockey anymore.
The blueshirts next game will be on Saturday in Ottawa as they will battle the Senators at 2:00 pm eastern time.
Hopefully New York will recover for their next game, and not be screwed again, but we all know how those refs have it in for the Rangers.
