Blueshirts Win Their 3rd Game In A Row 3-1

New York Rangers goalie #30 Henrik "The King" Lundqvist made 32 saves on 33 shots tonight to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes by the score of 3-1.

Henrik made a lot of key saves in the game, and was like a brick wall for the 3rd consecutive game.

In the last three games Henrik Lundqvist has stopped 103 out of 107 shots allowing only four goals.

It has not been mentioned enough how brilliant he has been of late.

After struggling for a while Henrik has definitely found his game again, giving a humongous boost to the struggling Rangers.

#10 Marian Gaborik struck immediately after Carolina opened the second period with a goal as he reached the back of the net for his league leading 25th goal of the season.

#33 Michal Rosival fanned on a shot causing the puck to go wide, #17 Brandon Dubinsky was very heads up throwing a blind pass to Marian who put himself in perfect position.

Marian is money when he finds that open slot that is where he will damage a lot of opposing goalies around the NHL.

Brandon Dubinsky had a great game after his assist on M. Gaborik's goal he put New York ahead with his 4th goal of the year to get the 3rd period started.

As usual another point for Marian Gaborik on the goal, as #20 Vinny Prospal also got credit for an assist.

#18 Marc Staal played a great game against his older brother Eric's team, he put the final nail in the coffin with his 4th goal of the year an empty netter to close out the game.

Marc has played excellent along with players like B. Dubinsky, V. Prospal, R. Callahan, and #21 Christopher Higgins.

Finally there is goes joining the great play of M. Gaborik, and S. Avery along with one of the greatest goal tenders that the Rangers have ever had.

A side note from the game #6 Wade Redden came in with a lot to prove, and played a great two way game he was getting involved all game long.

I went into the game knowing that the referees would be really biased in this one as New York has been on a hot streak, and played a team that is having a lot of bad luck this year.

#24 Ryan Callahan was crosschecked from behind no call, #16 Sean Avery was held for 30 seconds behind the play, among other things but one play really stood out to me.

Carolina's #15 Tuomo Ruutu came up very high on a hit to Michal Rosival, I heard the commentary say it was a good hit but I know the truth.

Lets also not forget that he took a run at M. Rosival last season too, and I am sorry there is no place for a guy who tries to hurt people.

If you watch the hit you can see Tuomo try to go for his head, look at his history if you think about it this is one of the dirtier players in Hockey.

As much as Darcy Tucker is a player that is often gunned for there was no excuse for the hit T. Ruutu laid on him from behind on October 23rd when the Hurricanes took on the Colorado Avalanche.

Another time Tuomo gunned for someone's head was in March of last season when he took a run at Christoph Schubert.

I will also never forget the time he knocked out former New York Ranger Jaromir Jagr in the 2006 Olympics, it was one of the most disgusting things I have ever witnessed in Hockey.

You look it up when you have the time go on YouTube there is tons of clips of the actions this guy has taken on the ice but its alright the officials don't care that he has a history of injuring players to the head.

If you are on the NHL board do something about Tuomo Ruutu because if you don't it is a matter of time before he ends some one's career.

All of this talk has been going around that the league wants to cut down on hits to the head yeah the referees are really carrying that out.

If you want to talk about it then do something about it because I am sick of watching players take runs at the New York Rangers, and not get called for it.

It is one thing to hit someone hard it is another to go for their head, I really hope one day someone takes this player out, and teaches him a lesson to remember.

For those fans who think this guy is a great hitter just watch how he jumps up right before making contact which is technically a charging penalty, but god forbid the officials get anything right.

At the end of the night it was another sweet win for the blueshirts who have won three in a row now, and will take on the Florida Panthers Wednesday night as they return to the garden for a 7:00 pm eastern time game.

New York has to keep it up they are showing flashing of what they were earlier in the year, and now is an important time to get some distance on teams in the standings.

Both the Panthers and the Rangers are coming off big ones tonight, and they seem to pretty much be even.

It should be another difficult game for New York as they will play another team looking to make their mark in the standings.
