The los Angeles Angels agreed to a one year deal for 6.5 million dollars with former New York Yankee DH Hideki Matsui. This picture belongs to ESPN.com
Hideki will carry a lot of momentum into the west coast after winning the 2009 World Series Most Valuable Player award.
Godzilla had a great career in pinstripes and it is a shame that the Yankees failed to come to an agreement with him.
Unless they are waiting for a better deal you have to be upset as a Yankee fan that they were talking to Johnny Damon instead.
J. Damon has been too demanding at his age he cannot expect teams to sign him to a multi year contract.
Seeing Hideki Matsui sign as quickly as he did with the Angels shows he is not greedy considering he is getting paid a lot less than what he made in New York.
Hideki will replace slugger Vladimir Guerrero as the Halos designated hitter putting him in a lineup with another former Bronx Bomber RF Bobby Abreu.
As for as the 2009 World Series Champions the Yankees are sitting still right now as much as they have gotten some of the biggest players in the game you have to still want Matt Holliday to play left field.
Matt is 29 years old and could give the Bronx Bombers some stability out there in the outfield especially after the acquisition of CF Curtis Granderson.
Signing M. Holliday would also be a quick response to the Angels signing Hideki Matsui, and will be a nice counter to the Boston Red Sox adding John Lackey.
