The Rock has been said by the WWE to be returning to Raw during the 1000th episode on July 23rd.
I always wander to myself what is it that people like about the Rock?
Lets go down to his wrestling skills the guy probably uses 4 to 5 effective moves in each of his matches, he really doesn't tell a good story most of the time he just runs through everyone.
Think about his mic skills everyone is always in love with the guy's catchphrases, hold up did any of you know basically everything he says comes from a writer?
You want to cheer for him thinking hes legit even if you look at the guys frame, he needed liposuction because he had boobs.
A lot of fans tried to cover up the wrist notes saying it was a storyline, it wasn't no storyline this guy is not the wrestler people say he is.
The match he had with John Cena was alright for the build up it add I expected a lot more. The real big moment of the match was when John Cena picked up the Rock from his own back and gave him the attitude adjustment.
Every part of me knew the Rock was too selfish to put John Cena over so I knew what the result would be, what made me really happy is I think most of the fans left that show saying John Cena is the man.
I know I heard the fans from the Rock's hometown booing him on Raw the following night, you have to realize its because nothing ever changes about his character.
You have seen many characters that had to evolve over the years, even Stone Cold Steve Austin changed his character around to become a heel for the alliance.
The Rock is one of those guys who will always be the same character, not one day did he ever walk into a WWE show and have to be censored like the majority.
So before Wrestlemania 28 he promised the WWE fans he was back and he was never leaving again. This man went out there wrestled at Wrestlemania came out the following night promising to win the WWE title, he hasn't shown up since.
How could you put stock into a guy that comes and goes when he pleases? I'm sorry but the Rock is not that entertaining to me that he can show up to one match a year and beat the top guy..
Lets face it without guys like Triple H, Stone Cold and the Undertaker the Rock wouldn't even exist.
Everything about his character was paved for him to reach the top, he was the golden child of the WWE during the "attitude era".
Now the Rock will return to the 1000th episode of Raw god knows what will happen, don't be shocked if he does an angle where he rock bottoms CM Punk if hes still the WWE champion.
Don't be shocked if this man moves on to face the WWE champion at Wrestlemania, there never seems to be a time where this guy is there to make the company better.
Everything is always about his own image, if you think about it during his last run before disappearing again he didn't put over one wrestler in the WWE.
Here you are everyone loves you, you can be in there showing other wrestlers the ropes but instead you choose to only be about your own fame.
I think I've figured it out if the Rock does lets say a few shows here and there it doubles his movie sales, we all know 7 years out of the WWE he was starting to lose his fans in the acting world so he had to do something.
To me it just shows a man who won't admit the truth, here you are telling the WWE universe you love them more than anything yet you screw them over by doing nothing to better the direction of the company.
The Rock could be putting on blockbuster matches with a guy like Chris Jericho since the feud never really went down the way it was set up to.
We all saw Jericho's debut in the WWE I think it would make a lot of sense to put these two against each other at Wrestlemania.
See in a match like that the winner can be either guy, you have to say they both been in and out the last year so let them just put on a show.
You know people will watch just because for some odd reason the Rock got labeled as a legend because of the "attitude era", but Chris Jericho may be in one of the top 5 to 10 wrestlers that have ever wrestled.
Chris Jericho is such a good wrestler it really doesn't matter if he wins, in my opinion in Wrestlemania 28 Chris Jericho Vs CM Punk was match of the night by far.
Still somehow I'm left with the thought that the Rock will find a way to steal the spotlight off the great things the WWE has been doing as of late, he will do everything he can to keep the focus on him.
For the people who choose to throw away the guys like John Cena, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan for a guy like the Rock honestly I don't think your real wrestling fans.
If you want to stay loyal to the guy who can care less about the business then its really hard to take you serious.
I would think you would support the guys who are in there week after week giving it their all to give us a show.
These men don't take breaks, there out there everyday on the road fighting through injuries, lack of sleep and other distractions along the way.
It will be a cold day in hell before I respect someone for cutting corners like the Rock has done in the WWE.
What people don't get is of course he is going to get explosive reactions when you show up after vanishing for long periods of time, most of the time when a wrestler comes back after a long break the crowd always erupts.
Its the fans way of saying they missed you, it is something that has become one of the better traditions in all of Wrestling.
