Look for both Ramiro Pena and Francisco Cervell to give extra depth to an already dangerous Yankee team. Both players together have been in eyes of many Yankee fans all season long.
Ramiro Pena the 24 year old utility fielder is looking to regain a spot for Joe Girardi's New York Yankees. Having an extra player who can contribute in multiple ways is a valuable asset toward the end of any season.
During Pena's time up at the big league level this season he held his own against the leagues best. While up in the major leagues this year Ramiro hit .277 going 26 for 94, and coming up big against rival teams.
Against the New York Mets this season Pena was 4 fot 9 with 7 RBI in 2 games loving the new Citi Field. The Los Angeles Angels have always been a tough team for the Yankees, and that was turned around this season.
Ramiro as went 5 for 1o with 4 RBI in 3 games against the Angels this season. Pena made the most out of every opportunity he was given to prove himself to manager Joe Girardi.
Then you have the Yankees future all star catcher 23 year old Francisco Cervelli. Cervelli is looking to be recalled after proving his worth to Joe Girardi earlier in the season. He was an important part of the Yankees great run this season.
While Jorge Posada was injured Francisco in my mind earned a spot in the lineup. Now that September is approaching Cervelli has to be a name on top of call ups for the 40 man roster.
The Yankees pitching staff seemed to really click with him as the Yankees quickly erased the 2008 season. It should be interesting to see how this season will unfold as the New York Yankees hold a 6 game lead on the Boston Red Sox in the American League East.
