Yankees Pound The White Sox 8-3

The 7th inning was the inning that decided the game as the Yankees pushed across five runs giving the White Sox pretty much no chance to come back.

Mark Teixeira showed off his power as he hit his 32nd home run of the season in the 7th inning off of Chicago White Sox pitcher Scott Linebrink. Tex pounded out 4 RBI being the first New York Yankee to reach 100 RBI this season.

Teixeria now is hitting .284 32 home runs and 101 RBI as he makes a run for the American League most valuable player award.

Jorge Posada came back off a hand injury to have himself a 2 for 3 day at the plate with a walk. Posada has been teeing off on the ball staying on top of his game offensively as usual.

Jorge gives you a solid bat every game, it seems like he never misses a beat at the plate. You know Posada's hand couldn't have been 100 percent, and he still found a way to get hits.

Johnny Damon crushed another home run for his hot season his 24th of the year off veteran pitcher Freddy Garcia. Damon has a chance of 30 home runs this season for a career high.

He has been one of the best #2 hitters in baseball. Johnny might be a weak defensive outfielder, but you can live with that because of his ability to come through time and time again in the clutch.

The captain Derek Sanderson Jeter provided another great game as he gives Teixeira a run for his money in the MVP race. Derek went 2 for 3 with his 24th double off the season scoring 3 runs in his 3 runs giving the Yankees production out of the lead off spot.

Derek has 2708 career hits as he still has multiple years left in his great career. 3000 hits are definitely in Jeter's future as he continues to be a Yankee Legend. Derek is at a nice .330 batting average as his career batting average stands at an impressive .317.

Alfredo Aceves was amazing in relief of Joba Chamberalain. Joba was pulled after 3 innings as the Yankees continue to mess with his routine. Aceves is now 9-1 for the season as he pitched 3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.

The Yankees had a chance to let the White Sox gain the momentum but Phil Hughes came in the top of the 7th to blow Chicago's doors down. Hughes worked a perfect 8th inning as he proved once again why he is a name to be feared.

Tomorrow at 7:05 pm Eastern Time the Yankees will face off against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Andy Pettitte is 11-6 with a 4.18 ERA The Orioles counter with another left hander Jeremy Guthrie. Guthrie is 9-12 with a 5.26 ERA.

The Yankees look to have an easy win tomorrow as Pettitte has been brilliant all season. The Yankee bats are alive the starters are giving innings, and the bullpen is getting out of tight jams. As a Yankee fan for the most part you have to like what you have been saying with this team overall.
