Nobody wants to see Chamberlain be babied like this it is the major leagues. I understand that young pitchers need to be taken care of but in this case the Yankees are pushing it.

Joba was one of the best relievers in the game at that time I would have kept him there but once you make him a starter on a 1st place team leave him alone. Chamberlain has been built up for a bright future but faces some uncalled for criticism.
Anytime you can develop a pitcher like this out of your farm system it is special but you cannot let that affect your judgment when you need to make things happen.
Obviously you cannot let him throw 115 pitches a start but all of this coddling has no place at this level of baseball.
Right now the first priority should be taking this division then the World Series. I don't know why everyone has been as hard on a guy 8-3 as a #4 starter as they have.
Off the advice of Jorge Posada to work quicker and try to get ahead in the count more Chamberlain is throwing dominate performances for the Yankees. Chamberlain had some problems with his control throwing too many pitches in a short innings span.
Posada hung tough with Joba and it has paid off. Although Jorge has struggled defensively all season it is good to see he got that right.
When he is on he is almost unbeatable there is not going to be many hitters who can step in there and hit the ball with authority at a consistent rate against his blazing fastball.
The main thing is down the stretch you are going to need Joba Chamberlain it is possible to overuse someone but it’s a shame to under use a pitcher with an arm like his.
Let’s hope the Yankees don't make this complicated as they have so far and find a solution with a young rocket in the making.
