Lou Plans To Manage Cubs For 2010

Lou Pinella said that he plans to come back as Chicago Cubs manager next season. Lou is not afraid to get involved in the game. He be very vocal for what he believes is right.

Pinella is one of the greatest managers of the game for many years as he will always be a big name in the game.

Lou has 1762 career wins as a manager while losing 1621 including a world series ring with the Cincinnati Reds in 1990 putting himself on an elite list.

The 1995 and 2001 American League coach of the year was also a great player as he played 18 seasons in the major leagues.

Lou played for the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals and finished his career with the New York Yankees. During his playing career he hit .291 with with 1705 hits in 5867 at bats.

He has helped develop many stars that have a huge impact on the game today. Such stars as Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr immediately come to mind.

Then you look at what he did for the Tampa Bay Rays as he helped build a young team. While he was with Tampa he had three losing seasons but you have to wonder if he had a lot to do with the team they are today.

Current Rays manager John Madden gets all of the credit but some of that should go to Lou as he coached a lot of talented players in the beginning of their careers.

Lou has done a lot of good for the Cubs as he has brought his baseball over to the windy city. For the cubs Lou Piniella has had a winning record of 243 wins and 201 losses and is currently in his 3rd season as Cubs manager.

The Cubs are out of playoff contention as they stand at 7 games out of the National League Wild Card. Unless they hit a streak where they are impossible to beat the Cubs will look to finish off what is left of a heartbreaking 2009 season.
