Ozzie Guillen has been of the greatest managers in baseball for a long time now. Guillen has usually been more emotional during the season as he as been this year. It is about time that someone doesn't have to make excuses for why major league baseball players make mistakes.
Ozzie has already won a championship for the Chicago White Sox organization. He has been the only manager I've ever seen to be on a wrestling show. I remember he blasted Simond Diamond of the TNA Wrestling show with a steel chair.
What makes him stand out to me is I have not really seen many managers stand up, and tell the league that his team will not tolerate being thrown at.
I wish Ozzie Guillen was the manager of the New York Yankees. The Yankees would be a better team in big games if they had a manager like that.
I like Joe Girardi but lets be honest other than his energy what else does he bring? Girardi lets players trash him, and never stands up to anything they say.
If he chooses to sit Jorge Posada he shouldn't have to read it in the papers, that is when he should have gotten in Jorge's face telling him where to go in so many words.
Joe Girardi was actually a big part of the Yankees would series wins in 96 98 and 99 as he did a great job with the pitching staff.
The last start Chad Gaudin had against Oakland the Yankees are a 1st place team, Girardi had every right to pull Chad early. Gaudin had horrible control he was not getting hit, but the game was coming down to one bad pitch could ruin the game.
Girardi should never let a player like Chad Gaudin show him up on the field who the heck is Gaudin?
Gaudin is the Yankees alternate starter you cannot expect to have faith in a guy with an inflated ERA.
You see the Yankees the highest paid team in the game treat their players like little girls. Jorge Posada is babied and has to have everyone come to his defense whenever he is questioned as a catcher.
I am a true blue Yankee fan but to hear Ozzie Guillen say that he had wished he had another option than Jose Contreras proved he is honest. How many managers will come out like that with the truth? You will not normally find a manager who lets it all out on the ball field.
The thing about Ozzie is if he had a player like Alex Rodriguez oh man what he could do with him.
You know darn well that the first time Arod choked in a big game Ozzie would have been in his face like a real manager should. Joe Torre tried just batting him 8th oh yeah thats going to be a real confidence booster.
Sometimes an athlete has to hear the truth in order to be the reach their potential. If one of Ozzie's catchers were too afraid to block the plate he would have it out with them.
There is no excuse for why your catcher is afraid of the runner the way Jorge Posada is.
It is hard not to say anything regarding that situation the Yankees start him with Joba who can't stand pitching to him. Why is it every time Chamberalain starts Posada has to be the catcher?
It has been obvious that Joba dominates when Jose Molina catches. To really be honest it seemed like the Yankee starting rotation was lights out while Posada was hurt the last few games.
At first it started off as just wanting to say the truth, but I really do think I am starting to hate Posada because of the special treatment he seems to get.
When Jason Giambi was a Yankee there would be a runner on first nobody out the other team was practically giving him a bunt base hit, and Girardi would never bunt him last year.
Although Torre did the same thing at least he got on Giambi along with other players. Girardi has this thing where he has to be everyone's friend on the team.
Ozzie Guillen would have no place for things like that on his team. If you see a catcher and a pitcher don't function at all then you have to find another solution.
Watching the Yankees right now I am just waiting for Joba to have a horrible start. I am praying to god that Chamberlains talent will beat Posada's lack of skill behind the plate.
Joba is a great pitcher, and he needs to just shake Posada off. Jorge constantly is a distraction to Chamberlain as well as other pitchers. Joba needs to just forget Posada, and pitch the way we know he can.
You see Posada throw the ball down to second now, and you never know what is going to happen. I've noticed a lot of his throws the past few seasons are way off line. Robinson Cano is so good that he saves a lot of bad throws, and has a quick tag.
Were people not watching Jose Molina the last few games? It is not even close how much better he is than Posada behind the plate.
Joe Girardi will never have the guts to stand up, and acknowledge the truth. If Ozzie had the Yankees you better believe Posada wouldn't get away with nearly half the stuff he does.
Posada is becoming more unlikable as each season passes, and now he has turned into a egomaniac. The reason Posada bashed Girardi in the papers earlier in the season was because he knows Francisco Cervelli is a rising star.
You could see it on Jorge's face how jealous he was because a 23 year old already was more of a spark to the Yankee team.
There is two options Girardi has to eventually go or he has to toughen up. You know Girardi has a temper he needs to let it out on players not doing their job.
Joe was such a winner as a baseball player, and will always be a special part of the Yankees. As a manager Joe is terrible there is so many moves he makes that I just don't understand. Joe needs to get control of that team because they have the potential to win the World Series this year.
When you think about it how can you lose when you have all of that talent? Imagine if someone like Ozzie Guillen had the players Girardi has.
If Girardi were to be replaced as manager he would still be valuable as a bench coach. Girardi just cannot run his own team if he wins it this year trust me it is the players not him.
How could Joe Girardi let this go on with confusing Chamberlain? The man never knows when he is going to pitch next, and has done what he has had to do this season. Joba is messed with in so many ways.
If a pitcher is pitching good you let him go until he is tired it is not rocket science. You see Joba hates Posada which I mentioned earlier it feels like the Yankees almost want to make Chamberlain snap.
One minute your talking about trading him then you are telling him to pitch 3 innings in a start. Today I am watching the game and of course more excuses given for Jorge Posada not being able to throw anyone out stealing anymore.
I am watching the game today, and Jorge Posada made two lousy throws on steal attempts not even coming close to throwing the runners out. The 2nd attempt was a pitch out, and Posada threw it up high letting the runner easily swipe second base.
What made me mad is the next thing you hear is how Joba takes too long to get the ball to the plate. Why is it that Jose Molina doesn't have a problem throwing runners out no matter who's pitching?
Stop with the excuses admit the truth, I am sick of broadcasters feeling like they have to justify why Jorge stinks at catching. Everything falls on Joe Girardi it is his job to get the right players out there at all times.
When it comes to Joe Girardi he needs to look at Ozzie Guillen the main example of what a manager should be. The Yankees have playing great baseball, but cannot lose focus on the World Series.
