The New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers by the score of 9-2. Andy Pettitte had a great delivering with his usual spot on control. Andy went 7 innings allowing 5 hits 2 earned runs and 7 strikeouts. Pettitte now has an ERA of 4.18 as his record is at 11-6.

Jerry Hairston Jr and Jorge Posada had great nights at the plate as they both slugged big home runs. Jerry Hairston Jr has fit in well to his new ball club since coming from the Cincinnati Reds. What else can you ask for from Hairston Jr?

Jerry has a .303 average since arriving to the Bronx going 10 for 33 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Hariston had a great game at the plate going 1 for 2 with a solo home run and 2 walks. Jerry started the big rally after a Cano double drawing a big walk working a big at bat in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Jerry fouled off pitch after pitch to take Texas Rangers Starter Derek Holland out of the game.

Jorge Posada came through with a huge 3 run home run in the bottom of the 1st that would put the Yankees on top for the rest of the night. Posada has been killing the ball lately bringing in 63 RBI in 310 at bats slugging 17 homers.

What a bat Jorge has been to put into the lineup. In the long run could you imagine how could these team would be if Jorge was the DH with Molina or Cervelli catching? You would also put at least two extra seasons on Posada's career.

Jorge Posada's best strength is his bat so why not make him an everyday player by being the DH?

At Jorge’s age you cannot continue letting him get beat up out there as he came out of the game tonight.

Posada is not a strong defensive catcher and a lot of his injury tonight came from the fact he has trouble catching the ball. It was a foul tip off his hand but you got to wonder why that always seems to happen to him.

I have been writing a lot about Posada lately what has made me feel bad is how much I have had to rip him to prove a point. I hate the fact that I have to say negative stuff about a player that I have always cheered for.

As a Yankee fan I want to see Posada throw out every single runner I want to see him be the best catcher in the league, but I cannot write lies.

He is such a bad catcher that is why he constantly gets hit from foul tips. There are catchers that seem to get beat up but not like Posada it is almost at the point where he is a danger to himself behind the dish.

Jorge has actually caught better than the last two games but still would be the best DH in the major leagues as Molina is one of the better defensive catchers.

Still at the end of the night I am always going to be behind Posada as he has the heart of a champion. You know every game you will get Jorge playing to win every inning of every game he plays. You cannot blame a player for wanting to be out there and believing he is one to do the job.

Jorge has class and represents the Yankee pride as well as anyone there is no question about that. You can always respect a person who comes forward and gives it there all.

The New York Yankees will play against the Texas Rangers tomorrow for a 1:05 pm game at Yankee Stadium. Dustin Nippert 4-2 with a 3.95 ERA will take on Yankees veteran right hander A.J. Burnett.

Burnett is 10-7 with a 4.08 ERA his first season in New York. A.J. will look forward to erasing his last outing and putting up another dominant pitching performance.
