Derek Jeter will always be remembered for his diving catch into the stands during the 2004 regular season against the Red Sox at the House That Ruth Built. That game left a big mark on the rivalry that between the two teams. When Derek started to turn it around in 2004 the Yankees turned it around as a team it takes a special player to bring that to an organization. There will always be criticism towards players but Jeter is one of those guys that don’t seem to care what you think as long as his team wins.

It is not a knock on Alex Rodriguez but you cannot compare the two Jeter is all heart in the big games and Arod has been flustered in the breezing dark cold nights of October as Jeter as shined. When you look at Alex Rodriguez contract you have to wonder why Derek Jeter didn't get that contract instead when you look at was he has meant to the New York Yankees.
We are talking about 4 World Champions that Jeter was a big part of then you look at A. Rodriguez he was a major part of the losing drought along with the biggest playoff collapse in history as the 2004 Boston Red Sox lost 3 straight then crushed the Yankees sweeping the last 4 games of the series.
You will look at Mr. November as a man that set a record for most hits at the old legendary Yankee Stadium a record that will never be broken.

Now in 2009 the Yankees made 3 big moves grabbing the 3 biggest free agents on the market. The 3 have been a big part of the Yankees success this season as they came into today 74-43 and have won 12 out of there last 14 games. Since the All-Star break the Yankees haven been dominating playing terrific Baseball going 23-6 since the break.
It looks as though Alex Rodriguez is looking up as he continues to have one of his best seasons as a Yankee. Derek Jeter has not been talked about enough for what he has done this season.
Jeter came into the game today Vs the Seattle Mariners hitting .320 15 hrs 52 RBI and 20 stolen bases. The most hits as a shortstop Mr. Clutch will look to come up big down the stretch as the New York Yankees are flirting with one of the best seasons in franchise history.
You look at the bullpen the starting rotation how their infield has drastically improved all around this is going to be a tough team to beat in any 7 game series. Right now at this point if I was the Boston Red Sox
I would look to salvage whatever is left on the active list right now and do there best to catch up. The best idea after that if you’re looking onto next year for the Red Sox a shortstop is a must whatever way you could work out a deal you get either Hanley Ramirez or Jose Reyes.
The Yankees improved in ways that the Red Sox have dipped off it sort of is the same thing that has been dooming the Yankees for the last few years.
The Yankees need to keep playing there game and not look at what other teams are doing stay the course and keep taking series after series.
