Arod HRs Twice In Yanks Final Regular Season Game

A.J. Burnett had a decent outing working 5 innings allowing only two runs, but will have to pitch in his first post season in a short time.

The story of the game was obviously 3B Alex Rodriguez who showed that he is still one of the best power hitters in Baseball.

The Yankees got a strong game out of their slugging all star, as he looks to be ready for what is about to come when the playoffs arrive.

The top of the 6th kicked off when Alex Rodriguez smacked a three run home run to left field to gain the 3-2 lead

The inning widened as the Yankee bats came around as they scored 10 runs to grab a 10-2 lead.

It was a very interesting top half of the 6th as the Tampa Bay Rays showed so much disrespect toward Yankees 1B Mark Texeira by intentionally walking him down by 4 to load the bases for Alex Rodriguez.

It was a bush maneuver by Rays skipper Joe Maddon because he wanted Carlos Pena to still be tied for the most HR's in the American League.

It is a mockery of the game when things like this happen although I don't know if I have ever seen anything that blatant.

The walk would give Alex Rodriguez a chance to knock in 100 RBI for the season as he was four away with the bases juiced.

Alex blasted a bomb to right center for his 2nd of the game, and 3oth HR of the season. He also got to the 100 RBI mark for the 13th straight season of his career.

Seeing a player be able to have 7 RBI in one inning is insane, and the scary thing is if he finds a way to swing like that in the playoffs.

Alex had one of his best seasons ever after missing 28 games due to hip surgery to start the year.

Alex Rodriguez's final numbers consisted of .286 30 HR 100 RBI, and played terrific defense at the hot corner making only 9 errors.

The Bronx Bombers will await their opponent for the 2009 ALDS which will be either the Minnesota Twins, or the Detroit Tigers.

Keep in mind if they face Detroit that they won't have to face Justin Verlander in game one as he had to pitch today's game to give the Tigers hope for a playoff spot.
