Last night's game two for these two teams was a real pitchers duel with both pitchers controlling the tempo of all hitters that came to the plate.
Dodgers pitcher 21 year old Clayton Kershaw got the no decision but pitched 6 2\3 innings allowing only 2 runs on 9 hits.Clayton also allowed one walk showing superb location of his pitches.

C. Kershaw had an 8-8 record for the 09 regular season, but kept hitters to a 2.79 ERA. He also struck out 185 batters in 171.0 innings.
Dodgers manager Joe Torre has to like what he has seen from his team the entire year.
On the other hand for St. Louis it has to be a heart wrenching loss after getting an excellent effort out of their starter Adam Wainwright.
A. Wainright coming off a 19 win season pitched like a 10 year veteran in game number two as he went 8 innings allowing one run on 8 hits to give the Dodgers lineup a lot to deal with.
A. Wainright couldn't control the outcome of the game however as closer Ryan Franklin couldn't hang on to the lead blowing the save, and picking up the loss.
The Cardinals ran into a gritty team as The Los Angeles Dodgers got some late inning heroics out of a very deserving candidate in Mark Loretta.
Mark Loretta put an end to game two with a 2 out walk off RBI single to win by the score of 3-2.The Dodgers now have a 2 game to 0 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals who had 10 hits, but couldn't muster them into anything.
