Andy Pettitte earned the win with another excellent start of his post season career as he went 6 1\3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits.

Andy was on point with his control throughout the game, and did exactly what he did all season by shutting down the opposing offense.

Carl Pavano threw a great against his old team the New York Yankees, pitching 7 innings allowing 2 solo HR's, and allowed 5 hits while striking out 9.

It was a really tough loss for C. Pavano because he threw a gem.

Carl made two mistakes in the game, and the Bronx Bombers made him pay with the long ball.

After Alex Rodriguez had tied the game to start the 7th, with one out the catcher Jorge Posada would go the other way to knock one over the wall for his first HR of the 09 post season.

Jorge has looked uncomfortable up till tonight as he was swinging the bat very well, and had a solid Series going 4 for 11 for a .364 average.

J. Posada has a lot of power, and tonight was a night where it was exposed for how much damage he can do with his bat.

Whatever you or I may feel about the mans defense fact is he had a huge game for his team, after sucking it up not starting game two.

Jorge came through again in the top of the 9th to add a big insurance run. With the bases loaded and one out Jorge Posada showed some quick wrists as he turned on a fastball for an RBI line drive single to right.

The 2B Robinson Cano followed for another RBI as the 4 runs was all New York needed to take the Series.

At the end of top part of the 9th you have to admire the way Jorge Posada fought back to make a statement at the end of this Series.

I have a feeling Jorge will go into the ALCS ready to duplicate what he did tonight.

Mariano Rivera finished off the 9th for the 3 game sweep as the Yankees will face the Los Angeles Angels for game one of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium.

After overcoming so much adversity starting the season with a lot of question marks the New York Yankees have shown up to play this October.
