Rangers 6 In A Row With 4-2 Win Over LA

The first period for New York was all #20 Valec Prospal who had two power play goals in the period to jump start the Ranger offense

#12 Ales Kotalik who has been playing great Hockey as of late assisted both goals, as New York took the lead twice at this point in the game.

In his first season with the New York Rangers #22 Brian Boyle took his first step onto the ice tonight looking for his first goal for Head Coach John Tortorella.

Brian Boyle scored in the 2nd period to give the Rangers a two goal lead after being interviewed before the game saying that he was desperately looking to put one in the net for his new team.

New York's net minder #30 Henrik Lundqvist has been rammed way too many times in the last few seasons proving furthermore that the NHL referees do not intend on giving him any protection in the crease.

3 minutes and 58 seconds into the 2nd period Henrik Lundqvist would once again be the victim of another cheap shot in goal.

On the play Rangers #21 Christopher Higgins would get 2 minutes for hooking after Kings #23 Dustin Brown collided with H. Lundqvist almost knocking him out cold.

I understand a player's progress is to go forward, but why is it this call only goes against the Rangers?

If C. Higgins was indeed hooking D. Brown on the play then how did Henrik Lundqvist get hit as hard as he did?

I would think if Christopher Higgins held him up that much that he wouldn't have almost killed New York's goaltender.

Right before getting blasted on the play, Henrik was able to make an awesome kick save to keep his team in the game.

The Rangers would look flat from that point on for the rest of the period after they were able to kill off the tough power play they would get penalized again this time with defensemen Brian Boyle.

The LA Kings capitalized on the advantage scoring a power play goal to cut New York's lead to 3-2 with plenty of Hockey left.

The Kings were out skating the Rangers for the remainder of the period pelting King Henrik Lundqvist with shots, but were turned away.

Into the 3rd period LA had a huge opportunity to tie the game, but would have to face one of the greatest goalies in the league.

Of course #10 Marian Gaborik would find a way to make his mark in the game starting the final period with a bang scoring his 6th goal as a New York Ranger in his 7th game.

The M. Gaborik goal would go on to be New Yorks only shot of the period, but would be all they needed with a 4-2 win.

After the first seven games the New York Rangers are 6-1, it seems like everyone on the team finds a way to contribute.

Going into the season many speculated that the blueshirts would have a lot of problems mainly with Marian Gaborik who was said to enter the season as a negative.

Many questioned the idea that he would stand out, but that has not been the case scoring 10 points in his first 7 games.

The King Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves on 36 shots to give him 5 straight wins.

Henrik heard his name chanted throughout the Garden once again another incredible perfomance in last night's game.

Henrik Lundqvist is and will be the MVP for this Hockey club for lots of years to come if he can stay healthy.

There is so much riding on this man's ability, when you take a look at #30 your looking at the man who will control the fate of the New York Rangers.
