The Yankees Have To Get It Done In Game 6

The New York Yankees will have it on ice for after game 6 hoping to defeat the Los Angeles Angels to advance to the World Series.

Alex Rodriguez deserves to already be sipping the champagne after carrying the offense this entire post season.

You know all season Joe Girardi played small ball on a team that hit 244 home runs, and he has totally switched up the game plan that has gotten him, and the Yankees where they are right now.

New York has to continue playing Baseball, the home runs will come when they come.

I have been very unhappy with how Nick Swisher has performed in the playoffs after signing for over 5 million for this season.

Nick is being paid about as much as Andy Pettitte so where are the expectations?

A lot of people seem to be giving him a pass, and he doesn't deserve one.

N. Swisher needs to either start learning how to sit the bench, or figure out how to hit in the post season.

You can't keep going with a guy who is 3 for 29 in the playoffs this season striking out 10 times in 8 games played.

You cannot get much worse than him right now.

If he is going to hit the way he has then Brett Gardner needs to play center moving Melky to RF that will provide the team with a lot more speed at the bottom of the lineup.

The chances of winning with the long ball during the post season are very rough, and I would rather see them play like the scrappy team they were all year.

However the offense has been starting to swing the bats behind Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez.

Mark Teixeira is starting to pick up the hits after grabbing a clutch 3 run double in game 5.

Tex seems to be feeling better in the warmer weather, but tomorrow he will be back in the Bronx it you got to wonder how he will hold up.

Expect big things out of him for the remainder of the 2009 playoffs, as he has begun to find his stroke.

Melky Cabrera is starting to heat up giving the Yankees some support near the end of their lineup.

You have to wonder why New York's bullpen has not been the dominating force it was during the regular season, and a lot of the blame falls on manager Joe Girardi.

When you take a reliever out you have to be careful just when you decide to do it.

I remember back in a regular season game against Toronto the Yankees had a 4-1 lead in the 8th with a runner on second 2 out in the inning, and J. Girardi decided to bring in Mariano Rivera with Phil Hughes pitching.

I understand Mariano is lethal, but lets be honest what does that do for the confidence of your setup guy?

Then you look at Joba Chamberlain can you blame him when he has a bad outing?

He doesn't know what he is doing before every game, he has no idea if he is a starter or not.

What New York has done to him has been devastating, it was obvious in 2007 Joba belongs in the pen, and could be one of the most feared relievers in the game.

If you want to talk about game 3 that was all Joe Girardi, there was absolutely no reason to take out David Robertson for Alfredo Aceves especially after David had gotten two straight outs like that.

As for their starters A.J. Burnett has been way too inconsistent its alright to give up runs, but when your out there walking guys it could only hurt the team..

Game 6 will be a good game to watch as Andy Pettitte will pitch against the Angels Joe Saunders.

Two left handers one game to win as the Yankees lead 3 games to 2.

What a series this has been to watch the way both teams have battled has been amazing.
