Cliif Lee Tosses Gem In Game One Win Over Yanks

Phillies Cliff Lee tossed a complete game to win game one of the 2009 World Series.

He kept the Yankees on their heels all night at the plate striking out ten batters.

The one he allowed was unearned due to a throwing error from SS Jimmy Rollings.

The Yankees got another strong outing from left hander CC Sabathia who allowed 2 runs on 4 hits through 7 innings striking out 6.

CC's main troubles were from Phillies 2B Chase Utley who hit two solo home runs in consecutive at bats.

Although the umpires have been inconsistent throughout the post season it is tough when Yankees catcher Jorge Posada is dancing around blocking the home plate ump's vision.

Jorge almost looks as though he is purposely trying to make strikes appear to be off the plate as he still has no clue how to frame pitches.

The Yankees got no offense whatsoever with the exception of the captain SS Derek Jeter who was 3 for 4 with a double in the game.

The Phillies piled on the pressure as New York failed to come through in big spots, and took the game with a 6-1 win.
