After going down a goal in the first period New York got it together by scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead.
Many players made contributions for the Rangers throughout the first period after losing two games in a row.
#33 Michal Rosival played really well to help tie the game as his shot created a rebound deflected off #34 Arron Voros leading to #42 Artem Anisimov tapping in his 2nd goal of the season.
#16 Sean Avery and #5 Dan Girardi played part in the following goal when they assisted Ales Kotalik's 5th goal as a New York Ranger.
The team was not done as they refused to stop playing their game as they continued to crash the net making way for rookie #97 Matt Gilroy.M. Gilroy ripped a rocket from the point going past Montreal's net minder #41 Jaroslav Halak for his 2nd of the year.

The period ended on a good note for Head Coach John Tortorella's Rangers who have been hurt from the lack of consistency from the NHL officials.
#18 Marc Staal looks to be developing as an offensive defensemen as he skated really well in the early going for New York.
On the offensive front center #17 Brandon Dubinsky could be dangerous if his numbers can equal up to his ability.
So far Brandon is a +7 this year with 8 points in 10 games, and has been played more of a role in the physical game.
The 2nd period was a bad note for New York as their goaltender #30 Henrik Lundqvist was opposite from his usual routine allowing 3 goals on 14 shots to go into the 3rd with a 4-4 tie.This picture belongs to ESPN.com
The only positive thing you can take from period number 2 was that Rangers #10 Marian Gaborik scored his 8th goal of the season with some dazzling moves.This picture belongs to ESPN.com
Marian is an absolute wizard with the puck it should be interesting to see if he can maintain his scoring touch through the year.
Former New York Ranger Montreal's #91 Scott Gomez was skating well all game as he ended the first two periods with 2 assists.This picture belongs to ESPN.com
New York would have to stop his speed along with former Devil #21 Brian Gionta who also had himself two assists up to this point.
The Rangers needed another spectacular 3rd period from Henrik Lundqvist who has let in too many goals as of late.
Henrik woke up toward the end of the 3rd period, but would allow the Canadians #13 Mike Cammalleri to get the game winning goal in overtime.
M. Cammalleri had the hat trick as he came up big for Montreal in an important game for them to make a statement for the season.
Although the Canadians came out on top the Rangers would leave Montreal with a point as they prepared for their game on Monday 6:30 pm at Madison Square Garden against the Phoenix Coyotes.
The referees are making some questionable calls, but the Rangers need to play smarter Hockey, and stop taking so many penalties.
Obviously they are not going to get a game called down the middle so they might as well learn to deal with the horrible officiating.
They have the tools to play great Hockey, and they are making too many careless passes that are creating offensive opportunities for the opposition.
Henrik Lundqvist has been shaky because of all the shots that have been getting through, and you need him to have confidence if you are going to earn a playoff spot by the end of the year.
New York could have won this game but they let up against a team that was determined to win.
The Rangers have been playing down to the stronger teams the past few games as their record now stands at 7-3 with a loss in overtime tonight for a total of 15 points in the Atlantic Division.
If New York wants to be a better team they are going to have to win the big games to further their status as a contender.
