Eli Shines Again as Romo Chokes In Giants Win Over Dallas 33-31

The first quarter started off with the Giant's defense shutting Tony Romo down as he was unable to get the ball down the field.

Eli Manning was incredible on his first drive throwing for over 71 yards, but was held back from running back Brandon Jacobs.

B. Jacobs was getting the ball nowhere as he could not get past anyone. Brandon to me has been the #2 runner in my mind, and I wouldn't give him the ball more than Ahmad Bradshaw.

It was frustrating to watch A. Bradshaw not get to play until there was one minute left in the first quarter.

The Giants got to Tony Romo when he threw an interception to the rookie Bruce Johnson who returned it for a 34 yard touchdown.

B. Johnson read the play well as Romo couldn't find his target. It would be hard to blame Tony Romo for that throw as Bruce Johnson came out of nowhere to grab the ball.

The G-men continued to keep their focus recovering a fumble to turn the ball over to Eli Manning, and the New York offense.

Eli was firing the ball all game with more confidence than he has ever had, he looks to be comfortable in every game that he plays now.

E. Manning seems to have found chemistry with wide receiver Steve Smith, the two found each other three times in the 1st quarter for over 73 yards.

However the Dallas defense was also playing at their best, as they forced the Giants to kick the field goal. The Giants would now lead 13-7 going into the 2nd quarter.

The Cowboys got some unlucky breaks, but were getting a major effort out of their running back Marion Barber. M. Barber has New York's number, he seems to never have a bad game against the Giants.

The Dallas offensive coordinator did an excellent job of play calling as almost everything they did in the ground game worked.

The Cowboys should have stayed more with the run as T. Romo has a lot of trouble in the big games with consistency on 3rd down conversions.

Tony is a terrific quarterback, but these are the games where a player of his talent must make more of a statement against the good teams.

T. Romo will always put up good numbers, but has to find the end zone more. Things would get worse for Dallas as Tony Romo would throw another interception.

The interception was on a play that was overturned on a booth review as the ball had bounced off of Cowboys Jason Witten deflecting off his foot to Giants Kenny Phillips.

Giants came back to capitalize as Eli Manning found Mario Mannigham for a 22 yard touchdown.

Dallas recovered with a 47 yard field goal from kicker Nick Folk to cut the New York lead to 20-17 with plenty of football left to be played.

Going into the 2nd half Giants head coach Tom Coughlan was wondering why his run game was too inconsistent well maybe because he should have let Ahmad Bradshaw rush the ball more than one time in the entire first half.

The 2nd half would begin with a bang for the G-men as Brandon Jacobs showed that he can still pound his way through the opposing defense with his strength.

Ahmad Bradshaw was getting some action to mix up the ground attack.

Eli Manning was getting a great effort out of Steve Smith and Mario Manningham taking apart the Dallas secondary.

The Giants have one of the best punters in Jeff Feagles, who is the oldest active player in the National Football League.

The 43 year old 22 year veteran averaged 37.2 yards per kick as he kicked for over 186 on 5 attempts to give excellent field position to New York.

Dallas kept it up on the ground as they were able to get a lot of yards running to the outside as Marion Barber was taking the ball down the field with ease.

With 3 minutes and 32 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Tony Romo gave his team the lead, when he ran the ball in for a 3 yard touchdown lead to go up 24-20.

The Cowboys would now have the momentum, but still would face an uphill battle as E. Manning never seems to feel the pressure.

Eli is never a man who worries about losing as he always seems to come with the same approach.

Tony Romo would go back to his old ways taking a stupid risk bombing the ball down field for his 3rd interception of the game from New York's Kenny Phillips his 2nd pick of the game.

The 4th quarter would once again belong to a Manning as Eli got an all star effort of his receivers.

E. Manning came back as he found Steve Smith for a 22 yard touchdown pass to give the Giants a 27-24 lead that would change hands very soon in the game.

New York would eventually score with another field goal from Lawrence Tynes to go up by 6 points.

Dallas fought back with Marion Barber tearing the turf up with his electrifying moves to get the Cowboys to a 31-30 lead.

Eli seemed to once again be in control out there, as he brought the ball down the field as he had done the whole game.

Down to a huge 3rd and 6 E. Manning would reach back, and give the Giants another clutch pass to get the first down.

Eli has put himself on a list of the most clutch passers to ever grace a football field.

Watching the way E. Manning played in the final quarter was like watching alignment of the planets, everything he did seemed to click with the game up for grabs.

Eli managed the clock beautifully, and kept the Dallas crowd as quiet as you could make them.

4 seconds left in the game would be the defining moment of the game when Lawrence Tynes who kicked a game winning 37 yard field goal.

L. Tynes had a great game kicking 4 out of 5 field goals with the longest one being the game winner. He has started off his season with some clutch kicks when the Giant's really needed them.

The Giants would take the win by two points in one of the best regular season games I have ever seen. The New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys 33-31 to take Tony Romo down.

Overall another horrible game out of Brandon Jacobs who was unable to do anything the last two weeks.

Brandon has skills, but should not be running the ball as much as he does.

For what reason would you let Ahmad Bradshaw take most of the attempts last week then turn around and barely use him against one of the best teams in football?

A. Bradshaw rushed for 37 yards in the games on 9 attempts while Brandon Jacobs rushed for 58, but carried the ball over 16 times.

The numbers show that Ahmad Bradshaw will gain a lot more yards throughout a game if you actually give him the ball.

If Brandon Jacobs rushes for 115 yards next game I know there will be people saying oh look I told you he was great, but in the end I know he should not be the #1 carrier on the ground.

Two major contributors to Eli Manning were Steve Smith and Mario Manningham who were as good as you could expect your receivers to be.

Both receivers caught 10 passes each, as E. Manning was able to throw to six different players on the night.

M. Manningham was able to catch for 150 yards in the game, and averaged 15 yards per pass.

Steve Smith who had 134 yards while averaging 13.4 yards per play. Smith played a great game, and was a target throughout the game for his QB Eli Manning.

Both S. Smith, and M. Manningham were amazing, and there is not one negative thing I could say about their performances against the Cowboy defense.

Look out for these men to give the selection to the pro bowl a run for their money as they have looked as good as you could look.

Last note from the game Tony Romo has been a choker in big games, and proved to be exactly that in tonight's game.

Tony had the game handed to him at points, but couldn't reach back, and show signs of a winner.

If you look at Tony Romo he might be one of the most talented QB's in the game today, but you saw it first hand tonight Eli Manning is the man in the big situations.

Eli Manning's final stats for the night were unbelievable as he was 25 for 38 throwing for over 330 yards averaging 8.7 yards per pass finding the end zone twice in the game.

E. Manning has carried this Giant team, and is now without a shadow of any doubt a leader on the field.

Retired Giant Tiki Barber as a broadcaster, and football analyst called out E. Manning's will to win the big games.

That would be followed up by one of the best drives in super bowl history when Eli shocked the world, and New York beat the Patriots to bring home a championship in 2007.

You cannot really blame Tiki from his experience Eli was inconsistent in games that he should have won. How could you disagree with the opinion T. Barber made at the time that he made it?

I don't think there was many people who expected E. Manning to come out, and become the player he is today.

As good as Eli played that super bowl game he did not play well down the stretch of the 2008 season, as the team was going to a lot of problems off the field with Plaxico Burress who was their best receiver.

It is never easy to replace a player of Burress's talent, but Tom Coughlan has done a great job as the team looks to be dangerous for the 2009 season.

After all the distractions Eli put all the garbage behind him, and has stepped up to keep the team moving forward.

There was terrible officiating in the game for the referees for both teams, and that is disgusting when you have a game of this magnitude have as many blown calls as this game did.

The one thing I noticed is the excessive taunting, I mean at this level you would think a player would expect to occasionally make a tackle.

There is no place for things like that in sports, I understand being pumped up, but some of these players will celebrate when they make a tackle down by 20 points.

It someones feels like a lot of the players care more about their individual stats than they do about their team's standings.

The Giants are now 2-0, and will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 1:00 pm eastern time for next Sunday on fox.
