Tex 2 HR's In Crushing Win Over M's

The New York Yankees received another fantastic pitching performance from CC Sabathia.

CC allowed one unearned run on 4 hits in a 7 inning outing to win his American League leading 18th win of the 2009 campaign.

Sabathia struck out 8 batters as he also leads with 220.1 innings pitched for the year, only walking 60 batters.

CC has definitely made a statement for the cy young award dominating game after game.

Mark Teixeira continues to knock the cover off the ball, and appears to be headed for another hot streak.

Tex was 4 for 5 last night's game as he hit hr's from each side of the plate driving in 5 RBI for the game.

The Yankees first baseman has been a force in the #3 slot hitting in front of third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

Hideki Matsui contributed to the game with his 26th home run of the season in the 4th inning off of M's starter Doug Fister.

New York got things rolling in the 5th inning after Francisco Cervelli singled to be followed up by a four run inning on a RBI single from Johnny Damon, and a 3 run home run from Mark Teixeira.

Cervelli who was 2 for 4 on the night ripped a RBI single to left field in the top of the 6th to give the Bronx Bombers a 6 run lead.

Robinson Cano was 4 for 5 in the game to raise his average to .323 for the season. Robby Cano has been one of the best all around second basemen's in the game, and will look to build on his 77 RBI.

Johnny Damon was able to punch 3 hits in 4 at bats to give him a .290 average. Damon has silently put together a great season with 24 home runs driving in 77 RBI.

Watching the game I saw Juan Miranda get an up in the top of the 9th, and rope a single. J. Miranda showed a Garret Anderson type follow through as he looked to be a hitter up there.

Juan is an excellent talent, that will show what he can do throughout the rest of the season.

The Yankees won 10-1 as they pushed their 2009 record to 95-54, New York is 5 wins away from 100 for manager Joe Girardi.

A side note from the game if you watched Brian Bruney he was wearing his new number #99. Brian looked to love the new number pitching a scoreless inning, striking out two.

The rubber game of this 3 game match up will come down to Ian Snell of the Mariners Vs Joba Chamberlain of the Yankees.

Ian Snell is 6-10 with a 5.17 ERA as he has been very hittable for big league hitters.

The young Joba Chamberlain comes into tomorrow's game with a 8-5 record, and a 4.39 ERA.
Joba will look to rebound from an inconsistent season, as the Yankees have messed with him entirely too much.

New York needs to let J. Chamberlain just throw, and stop putting so much pressure on him.

Mark Teixeira will look to add onto his 118 RBI as the Yankees will Battle Seattle at 4:05 pm eastern time.

Alex Rodriguez will remain on his quest for 100 RBI on the season as the Yankees stand 6 games in front of the rival Boston Red Sox.

Can Joba throw the way we all know he can? Will he be able to give innings, and keep command of his pitches?
