Theo Fleury Is Cleared To Play Again After 6 Years

after playing 15 seasons in the NHL Theoren Fleury found himself at a very rough time in his life during the year 2003 when he was suspended for substance abuse.

You have to respect his will to win in the big games. Fleury was on top of the hockey world during his rookie season in 1989 with the Calgary Flames as he brought home a Stanley Cup.

He is now 41 years of age, but feels he still has something to prove.

Fleury did not like the note he went out on as he had been bashed in the papers for leaving in the middle of a game for the New York Rangers.

The 5 foot 6 all star is in a rough position as he has spent quite a bit of time away from the NHL. He will look to be what he once was in the game of hockey. Theo was always an agitator on the ice a lot like the Rangers own Sean Avery.

Fleury was just entertaining to watch anytime he had touched the ice, scoring 1,088 points in 1,084 games in the NHL. He dazzled the crowd with his fancy moves, and his fearless attitude.

It should be interesting to see which team or if any team will give him a tryout to regain his name in the hockey world.

One potential team that would be great for him would be the New York Rangers. New York is a very forgiving city, and had always held out open arms to Fleury.

New York is the city that would make his comeback one of the biggest in history. They have been known to bring back former players who were always loved.

Looking around at the league the Devils would not be a good spot for Fleury as they have already taken a gamble on an older player with Brenden Shanahan.

The New York Islanders could possible take a chance on him as they are coming off a disappointing season last year.

I would think that a team like the Pittsburgh Penguins could benefit from Theo if can play like the Theo Fleury we all once knew. Fleury could initiate more offense, and give more to players such as Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.

The Rangers is the team I would like to see him end up the most with as I feel that he will get the best chance in New York. Like I wrote before New York loves a good comeback story, so why not let it happen?

Bring back Theo Fleury to the Rangers, and you have another experienced veteran to play in big games.

The 7 time all star will look to get back on top, and show hockey fans everywhere that he is someone to look up to.
