A night after being involved in a brawl with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Yankees were able to win another game in dramatic fashion at the new Yankee Stadium.

It was good to see both teams put the brawl behind them, and go out there putting on an exciting game to watch for any baseball fan.

The Yankees got a determined effort out of Chad Gaudin who went 5 and 2\3 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, giving his team a chance to win the game.

Although Chad was not able to pick up the decision he was a major part of the win over the Blue Jays.

When you think about the starting pitching as great as it has been for the Yankees, they might have one of the best bullpens in baseball as they displayed that in last night's game.

Damaso Marte has been solid since his return to the bullpen getting the out he was called upon for. D. Marte is a tough lefty pitcher, who will have no problem challenging a hitter with his fastball.

Brian Bruney hit a ditch not recording an out to allow one run on 2 hits.

Bruney was bailed out for the rest of the game from Phil Coke, Phil Hughes, and Mariano Rivera who pitched 3 innings all together allowing one hit as Rivera picked up the win.

Alex Rodriguez was 2 for 4 on the night keeping his strong as his average gets closer to where he would like it at .287.

A. Rodriguez has been great all season giving Joe Girardi more depth putting him in the same lineup with Mark Teixeria.

When you think about it how many teams have corner infielders as good as Arod and Tex?
Both players combined have over 60 home runs driving in 196 RBI.

Yankees DH Hideki Matsui went 2 for 4 in the game driving a clutch 2 run home run into right field to tie the game at 4 in the bottom of the 8th inning.

The 2 run blast was H. Matsui's 25th of the season, as he as been one of the best designated hitters in all of baseball.

If Godzilla can continue his track of hot hitting, then it should be interesting to see the numbers he can put up in his new role.

To be honest I thought Hideki would fade out at some point this year, but that has not been the case with him knocking in 85 RBI with more games to be played.

After witnessing a walk off base hit from Francisco Cervelli I am more than happy to be here writing about him joining the walk off club.

The bottom of the 9th kicked off with Brett Gardner picking up a single to center field, then he was able to give the Yankees a chance to score swiping his 22nd base of the year.

Gardner advanced to third after a Derek Jeter ground out to bring up the young catcher Francisco Cervelli.

F. Cervelli came to the plate knowing what he had to do to send everyone at the park home for the night.

Francisco drove a walk off base hit to left field to score Gardner, and give the Yankees their 94th win of the 2009 season.

The Yankees will enjoy the off day tomorrow as they will fly into the west coast for a Friday night game against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.

The game will be a 10:10 pm eastern time start as it will be a game of two pitchers who have the ability to dominate any lineup in the league.

The Mariners will send 15-5 Felix Hernendez to the mound who is keeping big league hitters to a 2.52 ERA.

The Bronx Bombers will have their work cut out for them, but will counter with a lineup of sluggers.

The Yankees will look for more consistency out of their all star right handed pitcher A.J. Burnett who is 11-9 for the season with a 4.33 ERA.

Burnett has been known to have problems pitching to Jorge Posada, but there is only so many times you can make excuses.

The last start for A.J. was horrendous, and there was nobody else to blame as he had a good catcher in Jose Molina for that game.

A.J. Burnett needs to stop worrying about what hasn't worked, and go back to what has worked for him in the past.

The New York Yankees are now 6 and a half games in front of the Boston Red Sox with less than a month to go with the playoffs coming.
